i met the old lady again.
she was wearing the same floral skirt and her own trademark big glasses
she looks exactly like those narrow minded granny who will keep lecturing you and
one of those from conservatism party who has particular prejudice towards things or people.
Indeed she is, just like my initial impression.
I still remember that i was in a good humor that day, exciting about the genting trip later. Then i met this lady & fml all my good mood ruined! We had a short talk while on the way to the destination. Everything was alright at first until she asked which secondary school me and my partner from. Well, I told her that i was from SMJK and my partner was from bla bla bla private school. Immediately she had a big response and started lecturing! Don't preach me a sermon about chinese school education level is low/ poor/ useless compared to those international private schools. I was even irritated when she claimed that speaking mandarin or learning chinese is something that i have to feel shame about! Well, i've to agree that international private schools' students might have much more advantages than those from NORMAL schools as they have their cognitive learning style which is more emphasizes on practical so that they're technologically competent, well balanced & equiped with critical thinking skills etc (am i right? i won't know cause i've never been to! :p)
It's important how school determines a student, it does play an important role to each of us.
But hey old lady, it doesn't mean that we're low quality individuals! It doesn't mean that those who can speak fluent english with british or watsover slang but party everyday are better human being! It doesn't mean that those graduated from chinese schools can't speak english! NOT ALL!
Make up your mind sarcastic old folk,
don't simply criticize and make judgements!

英文是重要，但现在中文也一样的重要。。。
外国人也开始在学中文了。。那老太太还在英文英文。。

From the way she made a conclusion based on intuition that chinse education system is bad, we can know that she(english educated) cant judge things with proofs and evidences.
(No offence for those english educated... I respect everyone, but what the old lady did is simply unforgivable..)

If you are speaking British or USA slang english but you doesnt know mandarin at all you still less competitive when compare with a students who speak Manglish and also know Mandarin.. Besides, from my experience, most malaysian wont like people speak with Western slang because they just sound fake..
