I 've spent some quality time reading some old lifestyle magazines and there are few healthy eating guidelines which really caught my attention. In fact, these guidelines are just some common healthy knowledge but they really remind me, this laziest bump to start taking care of my daily diet. After passing thru all the complex and tough times of losing the love ones, I truly realize that ife is fragile, vulnerable and short indeed, so it is important for each of us to consume better nutrition....or perhaps it helps to reduce weight? ;)

Here are some tips of how to choose foods that improve one's health and to reduce the risk of developing nutrition-related diseases such as cancer and heart disease.

REDUCE
1. Meat - most of the meats are acidic, they help the growth of cancer. however, fishes are exception lah.

2. High-calorie foods and fats- you basically know this right?

3. Sugary foods- Sugar is added to a vast array of foods. In a year, just one daily 12-ounce can of soda (160 calories) can increase your weight by 16 pounds. *1 pound = 0.453 592 37 kilogram* 16 pounds= 7.2574kg*

4. Fried foods - Heating vegetable oil above 220degrees damages the oil causing toxin formation and increases the rate of chemical reactions (oxidation) especially in the presence of oxygen and light. Thus, many toxic products of oxidation occur, including trans fatty acid and other unnatural breakdown products! Our cells accumulate these toxic and age more rapidly !

5. BBQ - They will increase the possibility of getting cancer!

6. Smoking and alcohols - well, i don't smoke but i take alcohols occasionally wor.... :(


More
1. Take small sips of ginger water daily  - but bear in mind DO NOT add sugar k!

2. Consume MANYAK MANYAK proteins, Vitamins and Minerals! eg: fishes, egg, milk etc

3. Fruits and Vegetables-  they are high in complex carbohydrates, fiber, vitamins, and minerals, low in fat, and free of cholesterol. Ohya, try to get fresh, local produce =)

4. Take Oatmeal everyday - Ya, Oatmeal. Dont think that it is the elderly's food, they're NOT! In fact, they are very efficient in absorbing all the fats and calories tht you've consumed!

5. Whole Grains - Make sure you're really getting whole grains! When you want to eat healthy grains in the form of breads or cereals be aware that the words multi-grain, or 100% wheat. Avoid: Refined grains such as breads, pastas, and breakfast cereals that are not whole grain cause they have been significantly modified from their natural composition.

6. Bean or vegetables Soups - add some fresh seaweeds will definitely increase the nutrition of your soup!
 
7. Unpolluted Water and green tea - No artificial composition added green tea or Branchea Tea (what the god is this actually? )

Others
1. Get moving! eg dancing, walking, jogging, sleeping etc
2. Chew your foods slowly and keep the portions moderate
3. Happy everyday!

I know these guidelines are hell hard to follow as i've knew all of them for how many decades ago already, but i will try to control and curb my appetite starting from now! I swear! To stay healthy and stay slim, it worths! BTW, I bet i will not follow all the guidelines exactly and strictly, soooooo...... i am giving myself some exceptions! not too much lah, just occasionally! lol
